"Square Lake Triathlon 2019"

5

A fun, well-organized race. (I did the "sprint.") Swim is in super-clean Square Lake, bike course is tough with endless hills, and the run course also is big-hill challenging. But you can take great pride in finishing this race as it's probably the toughest tri in Minnesota.

"Very Challenging but very doable."

5

I participated in the sprint triathlon. The lake was clear and great to swim in. The bike ride was 18 miles, with just enough hills to make you work for it. The run was nice on the same rolling hills.

"1st Tri Experience-well organized"

4

This was my first tri so I don't have anything to compare it too but seems organized. Plenty of space for bikers and transitions. Liked the rolling swim start.

"Best swimming lake and relaxed atmosphere"

4

I've done this race two years now, and both times it has been enjoyable. The lake has been remarkably clear, the race atmosphere fairly laid-back with convenient packet pickup, and the rest of the course is fairly nice.

"Great Triathlon for new-to-the-sport athletes"

5

This was a well-organized and welcoming event. The course was beautiful, with a bike ride through rural farmland and flowering wetlands, it was lovely and helped me enjoy the bike ride especially. The volunteers were great too, a big thank you to all the folks who made it a great morning.

"Friendly first tri"

3

As a first time triathlon participant, I found this race to be friendly. The volunteers on the course were excellent.

The course was rolling through a rural part of Stillwater, MN and the non-race traffic was light, which helped keep participants safe.

"Great local race"

5

Having taken a 6 year break from triathlons it was good to come back to a well run local triathlon that hit all the bases without costing excessively.

"Great venue "

4

The lake was great for open water swimming. Clear and clean with very few weeds. The bike course was picturesque with tough rolling hills. The run was an out and back that I measured at 3.1 mi. There were rolling hills on this as well. Overall the course was beautiful and challenging.

The sprint triathlon was beautiful ! The roads are great and the views spectacular. Square Lake is one the most beautiful and clean lakes for races. Loved it!
