The Great Peconic Race offers three courses around Shelter Island, NY or near the shore: 1) A 19.5-mile expedition paddle race circumnavigating the Island, 2) a half-the-distance 9-mile course, and 3) a 3-mile course and a 500 yd kids race. Shelter Island is located in the beautiful Peconic Bays between the South and North Forks of eastern Long Island. The race honors Ted Baldwin’s love for the bays and proceeds will be donated in support of the Cornell Marine Extension Program.
