This was my first Ultra style trail race ever and I decided to wear a 50lb Ruck for a 50k. I really enjoyed it and the encouragement of other runners and volunteers most definitely helped with motivation to complete. I will be entering another in the fall but running only.
My 1st time running this race. Mentally and physically challenging, which is what we ask for. Aid stations were spaced well and course was well marked. RD is a chill guy and you can tell he really wants to create a great ultra experience.
My review is far too long to post here, so read the entire reacap : http://relentlessforwardcommotion.com/2018/05/wambaw-swamp-stomp-50-mile...
Chad puts on a fantastic event. The distances are accurate, the trail is well marked, the support stations are manned and stocked - it's a simple but challenging race for ultra runners. No hype or games - just the runners and the trail.
after two DNFs on this race, success. it was all it was promised to be: long, hot, trails, woods.
