This race started way before Nov 2, with well organized training sessions and the assembling of a diverse community of runners -from pros to enthusiastic like me. The Facebook Group was filled with tips, words of encouragement and beautiful moments of friendship.
This was my 1st 25K ever, and only my 2nd trail race. I was anxious because my experience on trails is so limited. I had trained well, but only twice on trails. Trent (the race director), the Crushers (local running group), and all the volunteers made this such a fun, memorable, event.
Running through the Tuckahoe forest isn’t for the faint at heart! It takes determination and grit! I throughly enjoyed every minute of it and can’t wait to do it again!
Really exceptional race! Great location, well marked course, well stocked aid stations, enthusiastic volunteers and the race directior did a great job at both communicating details and creating enthusiasm with the participants. Oh - and great swag!
