The humidity and fog made this more challenging. This Clydesdale prefers temps in the 40s and below! The course parallels the San Antonio River and is very scenic (more so without fog!) and just enough hills to be challenging. It's an out and back with two legs, a left and right after the start line. That makes it easier on the Race Director as few or no off duty officers are needed to hold traffic and safer for runners as they aren't exposed to traffic.
The course was well supported with ample water stations and there are always plenty of vendors and good food and beer afterwards. The medals are first rate too!
