Overall, perfect weather and gorgeous scenery. I like small races so as long as your are okay with few spectators, then you will love this race. Many times, I was by myself. The first issue I noticed was not having cups for water/electrolyte drink at the first two aid stations.
Participated in the Half Marathon Hill Challenge, the start was very informal, which I really enjoyed; after a chilly start the weather was fantastic; there were plenty of aid stations, port-a-potties, and volunteers all along the course.
I ran the full marathon and it was a great experience. It was organized, beautiful, positive, there were plenty of rest stops with plenty of water, Gatorade, and Gu. I would highly recommend this race, especially for those who are tired of the huge overcrowded races in other cities.
I signed up for the marathon in October, but was not able to train much due to unforeseen circumstances. I decided to "gut it out" and do it anyway. I was so glad I did. Beautiful scenery, nice people, bacon at the halfway point!
The course is beautiful. I ran the fast and flat half marathon. The race measured 12.85 according to my Garmin and several others around me. No chip time, just a scan of your bib at the finish line....Race allowed pacer on bike to ride along a runner the entire race.
This was an awesome event. Appreciate all the sponsors and volunteers who helped make it great. The weather was beautiful and the scenery was awesome.
