Course was OK. Been over that course before. Weather foggy - added to enjoyment. Problem was at finish - no beer at finish. Man said beer was for marathoners and that the 5Kers had drank most of it. Well, what about us half-marathoners. My time was 3:01.
There was plenty of parking, but bathrooms were an issue. Not nearly enough!! No toilet paper in some bathrooms throughout the course. Single bathroom per station is not a good thing either. No hand sanitizers by any of the bathrooms. The water from a hose was nasty.
To be transparent I run this race every year. It's fast flat and very well supported. One thing that seemed different this year was the hazard the wheelchair race presented. Along the seawall the course was narrow and the wheelchair racers didn't have much room to navigate.
The race course would have been beautiful without the fog. The course runs along the Gulf of Mexico. We passed pelicans and egrets. There were few fans to cheer on racers, but the aid stations were well stocked with liquid, gels and food. The volunteers were supportive and kind.
The half-marathon was well-organized and went through beachy areas. A very flat course with many pacers. The thick fog was such that I could hear the finish line and activities well before I could see it. I knew I was running by beaches and water, but couldn't really see the water.
