This was my first Half Ironman. Like many, I dedicated myself to this challenge months and months ago. When I showed up on Saturday to check in, I felt like I was an Olympian. The atmosphere is amazing. When you cross the bridge to get into Cambridge, you can see the buoys out in the water.
This was my first (but won't be my last) 70.3. Wow, what an incredible experience. This race was impeccably organized with amazing volunteer support and great course. From the pre-race emails to the tough call to cancel the swim portion, everything was top notch.
This was my first 70.3 but I have done a number of sprint and olympic distance triathlons, my overall impression was that this is a good one to do for a beginner to this distance. The transition and race village were well organized in a big park along the Choptank River.
